I jinxed it. I jinxed it big time. Moments after wishing to have a benign last duty, here I am at 2:30 am, wide awake while waiting for the last patient to come in for the CT scan. At 2 freaking 30 a.m. This is terrible! Even my first year dutymates have told me how this has never happened before! Patients scheduled for CT scan at 2 am? Who in the world schedules a non-STAT diagnostic imaging at this very ungodly hour? =S I may not really want to go into the field of Radiology but at least one thing I learned from my rotation is when to schedule patients the most humane way. I can’t seem to understand why there are consultants who wake patients up at the wee hours of the morning to undergo an elective procedure such as this. If I were the patient, I’d get angry for my interrupted sleep/rest time. =S Good thing that today is the last time I’ll be staying up late to wait for patients. I can’t do this for another duty day unless I’m looking for a very quick weight loss program - quick but very unhealthy.
