Sunday July 11th, 2010 18:09 UAAP: Tamaraws vs Blue Eagles

And the soaring Blue Eagles bow down to the Tamaraws in their first loss for UAAP Season 73 with a score of 72-69 in favor of FEU Tamaraws. Breaths were held as Nico Salva tried to tie the score at 71-all in the last few seconds of the game with a not-so-futile lay-up, but it was not his moment to shine. A free throw in the last 0.04 seconds of the game (yes, you read that right) sealed the victory for FEU.

No doubt, the action-packed game thrilled all basketball aficionados. I wish I could have said the same for my alma mater but their 80-62 loss against host team De La Salle on their first-ever UAAP game this season was a heartbreaking and terribly embarrassing one.

Still, it’s very early to predict my team would be a bottom-dweller once again this season. After all, rookie Mike Silungan has shown much potential at the pre-season games. If there’s cure for hair loss, then there’s hope for a perennial bottom-dweller. =D
