…my alma mater, UP!
For the second straight year, UP wins the UAAP Cheerdance Competition. Yay for UP! UST and FEU placed second and third respectively.
It’s really funny and albeit ironic that my school started placing 2nd the moment us, 2002 student number holders entered UP. The moment we graduated, the crown went back to UP. Haha. Hindi kaya ako ang may balat sa pwet? =P
Congrats to the UP Pep Squad. You guys make us really proud! =) See you again next year! Thanks for your hard work.
Someone posted this as a comment in my youtube video; allegedly the results of this afternoon’s competition:
UP 93.30
UST 85.27
FEU 83.96
ADMU 83.81
AdU 81.04
UE 72.89
DLSU 70.07
NU 68.3
And finally, here are the videos from the cheerdance competition that I managed to record and upload to youtube, which is basically from start to finish. LOL. Enjoy! (a click on a google ad as a sign of gratitude is most welcome!)

I know, this should have been posted in my entertainment blog, but since What Now? (http://whatnow.890m.com) has gone bonkers since last night and these videos begged to be published and shared, I’ve decided to just put it here since this blog has turned into a mix of sorts anyway. So, where was I again?
Yeah. It was never a secret how I am a big fan of Pinoy Dream Academy though I must admit I don’t regularly watch them save for their gala nights. My bet from way way back the auditions was Jay Bogayon or known simply as Bugoy, that farmer’s son whose natural vocal talent awed and surprised me. He still remains to be my favorite. Laarni and Liezel are both great contenders for the crown too, but my votes still go to Bugoy.
Enough talk. Here are the videos from the Dream Bigayan Night where the scholars sang and danced for their respective charities after the jump. Enjoy!

I woke up today twice, the first time of which my mom was talking about someone finding his/her way in somewhere and me being the culprit behind it all. Of course I was curious but I was too tired (and not feeling well, if I may add) to ask them what I supposedly did wrong. The next time I woke up, I found my mom asking my cousin to have her hair ironed. The next thing I know, I was up and about doing her make-up. I presumed she’s going somewhere important as my mom very rarely asks us to doll herself up. Anyway, that “someone” which I overheard earlier turned out to be our adopted cat, Minggay, and that “somewhere” was actually my car. That thick-faced cat found his way in my car and slept inside! Trust me, I don’t have any idea how he got in. It couldn’t have been when I left for the Wordcamp 2008 that morning or else the poor cat would have been found by my friends who rode in with me when we transferred to a nearby videoke place some 9 hours later. And when I got home, it didn’t take me long to get off the car. So, it’s either the cat was too fast and I was too dizzy & tired to have noticed or the cat knows how to do magic. Either way, I’d have to change my car cover soon. I really like the black one my mom recently had made for my car (of course not where you can buy patio furniture covers). I don’t know with you, but black cars, black leather seats, black seat covers, black tire mags and super dark tints really appeal much to me. Haha. Sounds like a guy’s dream car, IMHO.

This used to be a rather farfetched idea: me and law school.
The only way you could put me and law school in one coherent sentence is when I say “I don’t like law school” which is like saying 1 + 1 = 2; a hard and fast fact. But recently, thanks to my professor who has multiple degrees tucked under his belt, I’ve been contemplating on giving the said field a chance. The idea of having an “Atty.” before and an “M.D.” after my name sounds too ambitious but it doesn’t mean that it’s not possible, does it? Finances aside, I think I can take on the challenge, especially since I am actually a bit on the suicidal side (it is suicide, agree?). The story of how he ended up taking up law after snagging the M.D. was indeed inspiring and the hurdles he had to overcome made my med school problems look like David beside a Goliath. He was studying law, was serving as a physician at a nearby school and was teaching at another institution next door during his lunch break all at the freakin‘ same time. If he wasn’t actually good-looking and charming enough, I would have thought him to be neurotic. I see myself probably doing pretty much the same if only I had XY genes, but since time is of essence for us females who do not wish to be genetic dead ends, doing so would definitely shove my mommy-instincts at the backseat - probably for good.
I asked Bee if he thinks he (or his ego) could take a lawyer-doctor for a wife. He just let out a smile. I knew it. I’d probably just resort to selling life insurance quotes instead.

I now regret having gone out yesterday to shop instead of going straight home.
Yesterday, because classes end early for us during Wednesdays and incidentally class would start late for us today due to some change in sched, I decided to go out shopping to relax. I ended up spending more than 3 hours at the mall instead of the planned one hour because: 1) it took me more than an hour to pick out my new shoes from the racks; 2) another hour to choose what to buy for my godchild’s birthday party on Sunday and; 3) another hour to have dinner (albeit alone).
I was so tired already when I got home and soon, I was already off dreaming about Caribbean cruises. The next thing I know, it’s already September 5 and I haven’t finished anything.
I envy my roommate for having perfected the craft of time management. It’s something that I obviously, obviously lack. I should have listened to my homeroom teacher from way back grade school when she was trying to make us learn how to manage our time wisely. Now I’m suffering. Great job Mnel for playing Miss Know-It-All. You deserve more than a pat on the back. A head blow, in fact.

A week after the exams ended, I’m again back to square one: anxiously waiting for the results of the doomed exam. When the last block before this ended, I was so determined to do really well for the next set of exams but as one week ended after the next, I found myself cramming my papers, literally neglecting my reviewers and entering that vicious cycle that ate me up all over again. I knew I was in for trouble and as the results of the exams are released one by one, I’d no longer be surprised if I failed one or two of them.
Whew.
I knew medical school would be difficult, but I never imagined I’d live such a lousy life like this.
